Guest Post | Current High End Favourites

Hi everyone I’m Aimee from www.aimeeloves.com . When the opportunity arose to guest post for Stacey I jumped at the chance. Not only do I admire her strength and positivity on a personal level, I am also obsessed with her blog. So thank you for having me Stacey, it’s an absolute honour. We have a big thing in common, the love of luxury. There is no satisfaction like cracking open a brand new Tom Ford lippy! But nothing quite as sad as the TF wearing away. So today I wanted to show you my current high end favourites, each just as beautiful as the next.

(L-R) Hourglass mood exposure, Hourglass dark brunette, Tom Ford cocoa mirage (4 shades), Illamasqua Tango and Mac Vanilla pigment.

Let’s start with Tom Ford. Oh Tom, why are you so exquisite? The Cocoa Mirage eyeshadow quad is a thing of absolute beauty. They are the smoothest, most long lasting eyeshadows that I have ever used. I use this palette nearly every day, it’s an expensive addiction I admit. The silky texture makes them an absolute dream to blend, so you won’t be wearing down your 217 in a hurry. Then we have the lipstick in Cherry Lush, it is the perfect red for every skin tone, a real crowd pleaser.

Next up we have a couple of things from Hourglass that I picked up on my recent trip to London. I have been in love with the ambient lighting blush in the shade mood exposure, it’s the most perfect warm complexion enhancing plum shade that I ever did see. After hearing every blogger/vlogger and their dog raving about the brow arch, I just had to pick it up. It’s perfection in a pencil, the slightly hard waxy texture means that it’s extremely long lasting and makes it very hard to go OTT.

Anyone that knows me or my blog will already be familiar with my Charlotte Tilbury addiction. I have been more than happy with every product that I’ve tried from her line so far and the light wonder foundation is no exception. I’d say that it’s a light to medium coverage, however it’s pretty buildable. It provides a glow without looking like you’ve just ran a marathon, which for oily skinned gals like myself is an absolute godsend.

Mac always seems to sneak into my top picks, but recently I have been loving highlighting the inner corners of my eyes with their pigment in the shade Vanilla. It immediately brightens up my eyes and makes me look as though I didn’t stay up until 12 o’clock the night before stalking people on Twitter. My second Mac choice of the moment is a pretty autumnal one, it’s a lipstick in the shade Hang Up. As you can see, it’s a really deep berry tone that is quite versatile really. You can wear it a bit sheer by patting it in or you can pop on a dark lipliner underneath for a full on vampy look.

On the days where I’m not rocking Cocoa Mirage, I’ve been loving the Illamasqua eyeshadow in Tango. It’s a lovely bronze shade with a subtle coppery tone. It’s a good one for a one step smokey eye. Also the pigmentation and quality of Illamasqua’s eyeshadows is impeccable.

Finally we have my recent mascara of choice, it’s the new Lancome Grandiose. The swan neck wand makes it so easy to apply to the lashes and really get into those inner and outer corners. The formula is really something to rave about too, it gives me ridiculous amounts of length as well as amazing volume.

So that’s everything that i’ve been loving recently, I hope that you enjoyed it and have maybe put a couple of things on your wish list. Believe me, they’re all worth it.
