Fresh Bloom: Indigo and Green with Orange Lips (Lime Crime My Beautiful Rocket)

What goes with a bright orange lip? Well warm Fall colors like russets and golds would look good, but you can also swing the other way and do contrasting shades in bright tones. To keep things soft, I am using shimmer instead of matte, which would be a bit stronger.
Step 1: I'm using a shimmery dusty-purple for the outer 2/3 of the lid.
Step 2: Using a soft golden green, I fill in the inner

Midnight Black Cat Eye Makeup Tutorial: Naked 2 Palette

I can't believe it's almost New Year's Eve! A holiday where late night parties and celebrations are the norm. What's more appropriate than a velvety midnight-black eye shadow look? I added a bit more drama to it by swooping out the outer corners into a sexy cat-eye. I LOVE it. Hope you guys do too.
And HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
What are your resolutions? Mine is to break my Coke Zero addiction and drink mostly water.
Not super exciting since that was my same resolution last year... But hey, It lasted a good three months last year. Maybe I can do better this time.

Lavender Smoke: MAC Crystal, Shale, Grape and Macroviolet

Purple Smoke: MAC Crystal, Shale and Grape pigment, with Macroviolet Fluidline

This look layers mulitple shades of silvery purples for a look that's monochromatic but not monotonous. If you own Lime Crime's Chinchilla lipstick or like that middle-ground between purples and greys, this is a look that goes with it.

Updated Hair Care Routine & Fav Hair Products

Happy Friday everyone! I can't believe there's only 2 DAYS left until Christmas!! Crazy!
I know I'm excited to take a few days to spend with my family and relax at home.
Christmas will be really different for us this year because it's the first year I've actually hosted our Christmas dinner at my house. Let me just say, I have an unbelievable amount of food to make and things to do tonight and tomorrow to get everything ready.
Anyway, I wanted to do an updated hair care routine video since lots of you have been requesting it lately.

I've been getting so many questions about how I style my hair and keep it healthy- What type of products I use, how I keep it healthy, and most of all, how the heck I've managed to grow it so long so quickly.
While I don't have a magic product I use to make hair grow faster, I have got lots of tricks and tips that actually work to help keep it healthy and help it grow as long and quickly as possible.
I've also found some amazing products that work wonderfully for me.
Best part about my favorites? Most can be found at the drugstore.
...and the tips I have for you in the video, will actually help you save money if you color your hair lighter by allowing you to go longer between colorings. Saving money AND helping your hair look healthier. It's a no-brainer.

Here are a list of my favorite hair products I've been using lately. Also, be sure to check out the video below for a description of how I use each one, my actual hair routine, and lots of tips on how to prevent damage and keep your hair looking it's best.

Products mentioned in the video:
John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Shampoo
John Frieda Sheer Blonde Color Renew Tone Correcting Shampoo
Pantene Beautiful Lengths Anti Breakage Conditioner
Alterna Hemp Color Hold Thickening Compound
Pantene Beautiful Lengths Replenishing Mask (deep conditioner)
John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray
Alterna Caviar Color Hold Blonde Leave-In Conditioner
Pantene Beautiful Lengths Smoothing Balm
Alterna Caviar Color Hold Moisture Conditioner
Alterna Caviar Color Hold Blonde Shampoo
Tre Semme Tres Two Hairspray
Got2b Guardian Angel Heat Protect 'N Curl Curl Iron Spray
Tre Semme Fresh Start Dry Shampoo - forgot to mention this one in the video. Some of the best dry shampoo I've used. If I skip a day washing my hair, I spray it at the roots for some volume and it really makes my hair look freshly cleaned.

Cabaret Mod: Dramatic Antique Gold Graphic Liner

This look hinges on 2 things: A highly metallic liquid liner or pigment, and a set of very long, very spiky lashes. It's obviously not a subtle day look, but for night, it can be extremely dramatic.

Holiday Gold Makeup Tutorial- Glamorous & Natural

Happy Holidays everyone!
For my holiday look this year, I knew I wanted to create it around a coppery gold eye. I've done some pretty over the top holiday looks over the years with the typical shimmer and glitz that usually comes with a holiday makeup tutorial, so I decided to make the color itself the focus, while still making it simple to do and very wearable.
This is definitely my go-to look for holiday parties this year (New Year's Eve included).
Hope you guys enjoy!

Modern Gothic Romance (Inspired by Jordan Liberty)

Black liner, hot pink cheeks, and Noir lips, with slate grey nails
Is "wearable Goth" makeup an oxymoron? Not exactly. This is not really Goth in the modern sense of the word, but rather, pulls from the late-medieval Gothic age, with its strange blend of opulence and dark dramatism. It's not always about matching over-the-top black lips and eyes. Sometimes, beauty is as much what you do, as

Winter Foundation Tips & Routine

The cold and dry winter weather can really do a number on your skin. Your favorite products that work perfectly for your skin in the warmer months may not work the same on your skin in the drier winter months.
Changing seasons means changing skin care routines.
Don't stop at just switching to a different moisturizer. Changing your actual foundation routine is just as much a part of your skin care than anything else. So by keeping a few things in mind, you can keep your skin looking healthy and perfect all winter long.

Here are my go-to tips for winter foundation:

-Use a primer (skip the ones labeled "matifying" if that's what you usually use and opt for a regular formula). Using a primer before foundation creates a "buffer" for any areas of drier skin that would normally catch the pigments in foundation and look yucky. So the invisible primer will catch them first. Sounds weird, but trust me. It works.
-Switch to a more moisturizing, nourishing foundation. If you normally use a foundation labeled "for oily skin", "oil control", or "matifying", switch it up to a formula for normal skin or one with a more natural finish. These usually are less drying.
-If you have patchy areas of dry skin that are difficult to get rid of, use a damp sponge (like a BeautyBlender) to apply foundation to reduce visible patchy and flaky areas.
-Go light on setting powder and switch to one with a more sheer and natural finish, like MAC Mineralized Skinifinish Natural (pressed), which is what I use year-round.
...and of course, the most important- Use a good moisturizer after cleansing your skin, before applying any makeup. I currently use the Origins Vitazing or the Jergens Natural Glow Faces SPF25.

Check out my step-by-step tutorial below for a demonstration of my winter foundation routine.

Cherry-Picking: MAC Metal - X Cream Shadow in Palladium

I was looking for a light, neutral Paint Pot when I walked into MAC. I wanted something that could neutralize the lid shade a little while intensifying metallic eye shadows. This shade would need to have a pearl finish, be glitter-free, tacky enough to grab powders, but not so creamy that it creases.
In fact, I knew a Paint Pot would work, but when I swatched the only pale shade available -

Tokidoki 24 Karat Skate Deck Palette: Swatches and Mini-Review

I'm lucky enough to have a BF who doesn't actually mind being dragged around on my shopping trips. In fact, he's a regular at what I term "my shrine" (Sephora) which I have to visit whenever I'm in the vicinity of one. He will probably never understand why I need to stop by to pay my respects even if I am not getting a single thing, but he does win plenty of points for staying attentive while I

Perfect False Lashes Tutorial

Applying false lashes can be tricky.
Tutorials on the process can make it seem even trickier.
Trust me. I've posted a few false lash tutorials in my day that make the process seem pretty intense, I'm sure.
Let's face it, this one will probably seem intense too. haha

Basically, I wanted to do a false lash video that not only showed the process of getting the lashes prepped (glue, trimming, etc.) and applying them, but also showed the steps after. Which to me, are the most important.
Just because when I apply lashes, a few tricks I do afterward really make the lashes look amazing. There's nothing worse than taking the time to apply them, and then seeing gaps in the lashes or being able to see the "track". It ruins the whole look.
So check out the video below for all the tips you need to apply false lashes flawlessly and some tricks to keep them going strong all day and night.

The Weekend Face: Barry M 146 Dolly Pink Lip Paint

If you've ever wondered about the fate of that gorgeous tube of bright, candy pink lipstick, you'll be glad to know it's been well-loved. It's no longer summer, but I still can't help whipping it out from time to time. There's nothing like a standout lipstick for looking "done" without spending a whole lot of time on your face.

Dragonfly Wings: Iridescent Smoky Eye

For those of you who want to veer away from the usual stately, smoky colors this holiday season, an iridescent, multi-faceted smoky eye can work just as well with that little black dress. (In fact, it would probably be the focal point of your entire look.)
I'm using some shades from the Urban Decay 15 Year Anniversary Collection and The Body Shop, but feel free to use alternatives you own. What

Day Look: Golden Brown with Violet Crease

This is a simple way to add a twist of color to warm or neutral shades for day looks.
Step 1: Use a thin, firm pointed brush to apply a rich violet shade to along the crease of the eye and slightly above it.
Step 2: Then with your choice of a rich golden brown (I chose MAC Brass Pigment, but if you're not able to locate this use MAC Woodwinked or Urban Decay Baked), fill in the inner portions

NEW Urban Decay "Naked 2" Palette & Original Comparison

As most of you all know, the Urban Decay Naked palette has been a long-time favorite of mine.

As most of you all
also know, I don't really accept "freebies" all that often, so when it was released to a lot of bloggers, I just wasn't into it.

I've got to say, when I heard there was going to be a second version released, I was a bit skeptical. I really felt like the original should kind of be left to stand alone. Surprisingly, I was not interested.
I know, crazy.

Then I started thinking.... I need this just because my readers will be curious about it! So then, my curiosity started to rise.
And last week, I ordered one for myself.

And I'm super happy I did :)

...other than the fact that the shade Half Baked is in both palettes. If they wanted to repeat a shade, it should have been Virgin, the best highlight shade ever. Or how about just make 12 totally different shades... haha

Here are my comparison photos and swatches of the original Naked and Naked 2 palettes. To see a full review and to hear my thoughts on the differences, each specific color, and packaging, check out my video at the bottom of the post.

Original Naked Palette

**I ordered mine from the actual Urban Decay website. They sold out pretty quickly (uh, the day I ordered it... they apparently like seeing us squirm).
Which is kind of a genius marketing strategy. It makes everyone want them more.
I love Urban Decay, but seriously.
We all know Urban Decay is capable of creating enough palettes not to sell out, especially after the Naked madness during the original release (that went on for MONTHS). I really hope the whole restocking-selling out-restocking madness doesn't go on as long as it did last time so that all of you who want one can get one soon. After all, Urban Decay, I've got tutorials to make for my viewers, and if they want to buy one, they should be available. :)
You can also enter your email at the Urban Decay website and they'll let you know when they become available again, which is nice.
So no worries! Tutorials will come soon. I'm going to feel it out for a bit so that the tutorials don't just piss everyone off that wants one but don't have one due to the selling-out craze... haha So those will come when they're a little more readily-available.

Monthly Favorites: November Edition

I'm kind of giddy about my favorites for November.

When I think of summarizing them, the only thing that comes to mind is that in November, I found an eye liner that possibly surpasses the awesome-ness of all my eye liners mentioned in my Favorite Eye Liners post/video.

If you know me at all, then you get the gravity of that statement.

And that there is really nothing left to say that will surpass that.

Lazy Face: The 5 Minute Makeup Routine

There are days when you just DON'T have any time to spend 20 minutes getting your full face on.
Here are the essential steps and tips (for me) to get out the door looking put-together:
Step 1: Pick a good medium-coverage foundation (Dior Nude and Bourjois Healthy Mix are my favorites for being lightweight+good-coverage) with a great skin-like finish. This will even out your skin and minimize time

Banded Smoky Eye: Urban Decay Deep End and MAC Copper pigment

This is a twist on the traditional colorful eye, created by alternating 2 shades concentrically outwards. It's definitely a dramatic look, and plays on subtle color and a very strong, defined eye line. The shape of the look means it will only work if you have a crease. If you don't, but want to recreate this look, you will need to use lid glue to create a fold or the colors will not show up.

Dark Golden Olive

For most women, green shadow is something they love or hate. It's not always the easiest color to wear, but those who love it swear by its ability to be both brightening and sultry in turns.
Of the scores of greens out there, the one that is possibly the easiest for women of all skin tones to wear is a golden pistachio/olive tone that is part green, part gold, part bronze. If you want to buy just

Holiday Glam: Smoky Blackened-Gold with Crimson lips

Most of the time, we pair dark smoky eyes with muted lips to keep things in balance, but it does not mean that you can't pair it with a strong lip for the holiday season. To keep the eyes sultry but not overly heavy and severe, I adapted the traditional black eye with 2 things:A pale gold on the lid (I mixed a blend of translucent silver and gold mica to get that specific "cold-gold" shade,

Victorias Secret Angel Makeup Tutorial - VS Fashion Show 2011

It's that time again! The annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show airs tonight! (November 29th on CBS)

Because it was filmed weeks ago, I've gotten the opportunity to see some backstage footage and get the inside scoop on all the makeup worn in the show.
The makeup for the show usually has a theme that carries on year after year: bronze, glowy skin, defined and ultra-sexy eyes done in natural shades, and glossy lips. This year was no different. However, each year there's always something that they do on each model that makes that year unique. This year the eye shadow was toned down and the eyes were centered around a heavier (but soft and smudged) application of liner. The skin was really the focus of the look. Bronzed and glowy. But the glow was very golden. I actually used the same highlight color on my eyes as my face which pulled the whole look together.

To see a step-by-step tutorial of the look so you can re-create the look yourself, check out my video at the bottom of the post.

This is a 3rd look created with the Urban Decay 15 Year Anniversary Eye Shadow Collection (I've getting my money's worth, dang it). Gift Idea #2: MAC Smoky Plum Crushed Metallic Pigment Dazzlesphere (Swatches and Review)

MAC Smoky Plum Dazzlesphere
My second suggestion as a cool gift this holiday season for any makeup lover who loves dramatic color. MAC's Dazzlespheres look like oversized tree ornaments, but what wowed me were the actual pigments contained within. Out of the 3 available Dazzlespheres (Temptalia has a good run-down of all 3), my choice was the Smoky Plum stack.
I actually like all 3, but I

Sephora Friends & Family Haul (Again...) and New Skincare Items!

First of all, Happy Thanksgiving to all my readers! I hope you all have a great holiday with your loved ones! :)
I'm so excited about the stuff I got during the latest Sephora Friends & Family sale. Seriously, it seems like the past month has been a non-stop F&F sale at Sephora. Well, it pretty much has.

This time, the sale was for "VIB" Beauty Insiders only, and gave me 20% off. Perfect timing because I was very much regretting not taking advantage of the last F&F sale to the fullest. This time around, not only did I get lots of stuff I had my eye on, but I scored a few Christmas presents for a few people on my list as well.
I also scored a great deal on some expensive skincare items I've had my eye on for months now. I'll be sure to update you guys with all the details on how it works out.
To see all my new goodies, check out my video below.

This look was done using the below 2 shades, but feel free to use other shades that might be similar as these shades should be generally easy to substitute:M.I.A.: Deep chocolate pearl (medium sheen)

Holiday Look: Molten Metal

What happens when you layer gloss over a high-sheen metallic? I decided to find out.For this look, I picked one of the creamiest and densest metallic shadows around, The Body Shop's single eye shadow in #45, which is to this day one of the most intense deep-silver shadows I've ever come across, considering that it is not a cream formula.
Step 1: To prep the lids, I lined my upper lash line with a

Holiday Gift Idea #1: Urban Decay 15 Year Anniversary Eyeshadow Collection Swatches and Review

Am going to randomly post about products that I think make really fabulous gifts for makeup fanatics. The first of these is the Urban Decay 15 Year Anniversary Eyeshadow Collection.
The great thing about this collection of 15 intense shades is that they are all completely original. These are not a compilation of "best-selling" shades from the regular lines. The bad thing of course, is that they

Butterfly: Strong purple and blue winged smoky eye (88 matte palette)

This isn't a butterfly makeup look. It's just that the blue reminds me of butterflies' wings. The makeup itself is a standard smoky cat-eye that is flattering on most eye shapes, and the lips and cheeks are kept a pale luminous pink to stand up to the strong, matte eyes.
Step 1: Apply a good base on your lids, and then pack on a strong matte blue shadow on the inner half of upper lids, and along

Metallic Blue Double-Winged Liner

Double-winged liner simply refers to a look where the top and bottom lines split apart at the outer corners instead of coming together, following the eye shape. It's not hard to do if you've learned how to do a wing.Use gel/pot liner and a very small, flat, firm brush. Liquid liner is a good deal harder to control if you're not well-practised at it, ESPECIALLY on the lower lash line.

Our Lil' Mountain Vacation Story. Through Pictures. ...and a Video.

A few weeks back, Brad and I planned this little last-minute weekend getaway to the Great Smoky Mountains.
Talk about a much-needed vacation... We had such a great time. We rented the cutest cabin in Pigeon Forge with the most AMAZING view ever, ate at some great restaurants there and in Gatlinburg, and just had the best couple of days spending lots of time with each other.
We had such an amazing time that I wanted to share a little vlog we filmed as well as some of our pictures. Mainly because I want to show-off the amazing pictures my new Canon S95 takes. It's seriously amazing. Since the focus is rather loud, I don't film with it, so the vlog was filmed with my same camera I've used for years (for photos and videos), my Sony Cybershot DSC W290. Which I don't recommend for photos. But I'm planning on getting a new video camera soon so wooohooooo!
Anyway, back to the Canon S95... it's awesome.
Here's a little look at our trip!

A few shots of the view from our cabin... Looks like a painting.

We went to the Apple Barn. I hadn't been there in years and Brad had never been. The Applewood Farmhouse restaurant there was delicious.

Oh what a makeshift tripod (sunken river bank and a few rocks) and a camera self-timer can do...

getting cheesy...

aaand even cheesier.

The river there was gorgeous...

We took a drive through the mountains... The next four were taken from the actual car, out the window...lol

Awesome Bear hat.

We brought a picnic up the mountain to this quiet (and very cold) spot...
...which also happened to be labeled as a "bear habitat". Seriously. A bear habitat picnic area.
Awesome.

Brad got creative with the picture-taking.
After taking this, I realized I was standing in poison ivy.
Note: Burn boots.
...next he says "Lets do one on the log."
When I tried to mount the log, things got awkward...
He meant the camera goes on the log.
Obviously... I knew that. :/

"hmmmm.... How to make this small stream slightly dangerous...."

"...stand on a rock." Not super dangerous, but seriously... What is it about guys that makes them want to jump on every rock they see near water?

Yep. More rock standin'. "Which rock to stand on next...hmmm..."

Here is a little vlog filmed during the trip for my second YT channel (my random channel), TiffanyDtv

I guess we'll just go ahead and end on this ridiculousness.
Because Gatlinburg is nothing if but a town that is never short of photo-ops...

How I Clean and Dry Makeup Brushes

Cleaning my makeup brushes used to be (well, and still is) one of my least favorite things to do.

For several reasons...

First of all, it just takes too long. Between cleaning them and waiting for them to dry, it's a process. If I leave them on the counter to dry overnight, they're usually still damp the next morning. Ever tried to use a damp makeup brush in blush or face powder? Not cute.

Another reason is that no matter how careful and gentle you are while cleaning them, or how carefully you lay them out to dry and reshape them, they'll always look a bit different. Especially natural hair brushes. Makes sense since they're, well, natural hair. Imagine letting your hair naturally dry overnight. Hey, sometimes it can be cute, but it sure doesn't look the same as it did before you washed it (that is, if you had it straightened before washing it, as makeup bristles are always straight).

Then there is just the actual task of cleaning them. Unless someone invents an automatic brush cleaner (which I don't forsee happening), this will always be a chore to me.

Ok, we get it. Cleaning brushes is no fun.

Considering I've found some ways around these little problems above, I figured it was time to update you guys with how I currently clean and dry them. Especially since I've found a way to dry them even faster. Over the past several months, I've been using a new product that actually dries them in 4-6 hours. No joke. It also keeps the brushes in their original shape which is exciting. Another exciting extra- If you click here for the Dry n' Shape and enter the coupon code TIFFANY5 at checkout, you'll save $5 on it. Which makes it even more affordable. That is pretty exciting as well.

Some of you may not find this all as exciting as I do. But I really dislike cleaning brushes. Did I mention that already? ...or that I think this is exciting? ;)

Here's a video demonstration of how I clean my brushes. Yep, I take you guys to my sink. Now that is exciting.

Tips and Tricks: How I clear clogged pores

If you've ever stood for a full 15 minutes, your face an inch from the mirror, furiously squeezing out oil plugs from your congested pores, and felt some masochistic satisfaction despite ending up with red, inflamed skin, you're just one of the millions of us who struggle to remove or at least reduce the appearance of black heads.
Oil plugs (what black heads really are) are simply a mixture of

Simple, neutral kitten-eye with soft pink lips and cheeks

I've been into glowing, barely-there cheeks recently, and you can pair it with both dark makeup, as well as softer ones.
This time around I'm matching it with a simple, soft neutral eye and soft, cool-pink lips.
Step 1: Pack a shimmery ivory-beige shade to the inner 3/4 of the lid, leaving the outermost corner empty.
Step 2: With a taupe brown (e.g. MAC Satin Taupe) and a small pointed brush,

Deep Purple Tutorial: Dior "Mystic Smokys" Palette

I LOVE a sophisticated purple look. Whenever I want to do a more colorful look, purple is always my favorite choice. Something else I love? A good eye shadow palette that can produce a full look without reaching for much else. So glad I picked up the Dior Mystic Smokys palette during the Sephora Friends and Family sale a few weeks back! I even got away with not reaching for a separate eye liner. Which is crazy. The dark purple in the palette made the most perfect liner. To make the look a little brighter, I used a few bright pencil eye shadows underneath, which made the look a little more fun. Hope you guys enjoy :)

Easy Bronze-Liner Look: Feat. MAC Snow Season (Glitter and Ice Collection)

I didn't go crazy over MAC's Snow Season collection. I do think there are some really nice products (the Paint Pots and the shadows are all beautiful, but I don't think they are spectacular or particularly unique unless you don't have anything similar to those.)
I have to say I think Shimmermint is a gorgeous shadow, but I can mix up something similar with some pigments and micas, so I didn't get

October Favorites! Beauty Products

So this month's edition of "favorites" is kind of all about quality, not quantity. Totally didn't realize how few I had until I was almost done filming the video.
But no worries. They're especially good. I'm probably jumping the gun here, but a couple products might even make my annual "Best Products" video for 2011 which I post at the end of December in place of that month's favorites. Can you believe how fast this year has gone by? Insane.

Hope you all had a wonderful month of October!

Emerald-Encrusted: Dramatic Green Glitter Eye

I wanted to do more dramatic glitter eyes, so this time round, I went for a deep forest green micro-glitter.
The effect you want is a really "gem-encrusted" finish over the lids, and I'm not going to lie; it's not exactly comfortable to wear once the sealant dries. It will be a bit hard to open your eyes wide, which is the reason I shaped the eye to look a little "lazy".---Step 1: Using a

Ulta Friends & Family Haul

Tis the season for Friends and Family sales...
However, Ulta's drove me a bit crazy. I will explain.

So the sale lasted a mere 7 days- October 23-29. Ok, so that doesn't sound so mere. Basically, if you personally know someone that works at an Ulta store, they have access to a few coupons they could each give to a few friends and family members. Not really something a lot of people could benefit from.
However, I also knew that there would be an email sent out with a code as well as a coupon sent through the mail. Well, they were sent, but at the very last minute.
I got my email during the last couple days of the sale, I believe. But what really made me mad was that my actual sale coupon/flyer was mailed to me the last day of the sale. Yep, October 29th. Which was kind of frustrating. Not really sure why those were sent out at the very last minute. Or why the email wasn't sent out on, oh I dunno, the 23rd when the sale began?
Ok, I'll calm down.
You're killin' me, Ulta...you're killin' me.

Anyway, to see the (last minute) goodies I got check out my Ulta Friends & Family Haul video below.
...and if you're like most people I've talked to and didn't get to take advantage of the sale because of the last-minute-ness, Sephora's F&F sale is still going on (until Nov. 2nd). You can get all the info on that here.

Easy 20's-inspired Siren Look

A dark lip and dramatic eye can be overly-dramatic when paired together, but if you're going to be dressing up as a flapper girl for either Halloween or any other fancy occasion, this is a simple look that can help you channel the 20's with minimal fuss.
Regardless of skin tone, what you'll need are:Matte foundation and powder
Black shadow (matte)
Dark russet/wine shadow (shimmery)

Smoke and MIrrors - Sparkly Smoky Eye Tutorial

A single, flat grey shade on the lids can make the skin look dull and sometimes a little sallow, so the trick to wearing it is to wear a few shades of grey for some contrast.
Step 1: Apply a smoky metallic grey all over the lids from lash line to socket line.
Step 2: Use a deeper grey to extend and wing out the outer corners in a V shape. Then run this dark grey along the outer half of the

Sephora Friends and Family Sale! ...and a haul, of course

I love a good sale.
I love a good sale at Sephora even more. This week (until November 2nd), Sephora.com is running a friends and family sale ONLINE ONLY that will save you 20% off of your entire order.

All you have to do to get the discount is enter a promo code at checkout. For your unique code, click here and enter your email address.
Easy as pie, right?

So of course, I got super excited and placed my order right when the sale began. I got some awesome stuff I'm very excited about (check out my haul video below for the goods I got), but over the past couple days, I've been thinking of about five other things I wish I would have gotten.
I may have to figure out a sneaky way to get another code and place another order. ;)

So what's on your list to buy from the friends and family sale? Have any of you already placed your orders? Do tell. :)

xoxo,
Tiffany

Poison Orchid: Too Faced Exotic Color Intense Eye Shadow

Too Faced Exotic Color Intense Eye Shadows

Too Faced Intense Eye Shadow in Poison Orchid
I snapped up just this one shadow from the new Too Faced Midnight In the Garden of Glamour collection. This midnight amethyst shade is a smoky dark grey with oodles of magenta sparks, and was the instant standout shade for me, because I haven't found anything else quite like it, and the camera just

My Favorite Eye Liners

I have a confession.

I'm addicted to eye liner. It's been an issue I've dealt with most of my makeup-wearing life. Most days, I feel naked without it. Even the tiniest amount can make me feel put-together.

There are SO many different types of eye liners out there and each type can do totally different things. Different looks require different types. Because of that, it's good to have a few different kinds in your collection.

Because I'm an eye liner addict, I've tried basically every kind out there (seriously) and have narrowed my "Favorite Eye Liners" list down to the following:

Maybelline Master Drama automatic pencil liner
MAC Fluidline
Loreal Carbon Black Lineur Intense
Maybelline Stiletto liner (great alternative to the hard-to-find liner above)
Lancome Art Liner
Make Up For Ever Aqualiner
Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen
Stila Kajal Eye Liner
MAC Fascinating Eye Khol

They all made my "favorites" for different reasons, of course. So be sure to watch my video below for more details on each one and how I like to use them.

D.I.Y. Liner/Sealant Formula

The good thing about a sealant is that it can be used to suspend pigments and glitter, so that you can apply an intense swatch of it as glitter or just foiling your pigments and shadows for a more dramatic look. There are ready-made formulas around from many brands but if you can't get hold of them easily, or at a convenient price, you can always make your own with the below ingredients.

New Dining Room, Painting Tips, and Some Fall Decor

I know, I know... This is a beauty blog. But I loooove our home and sharing decorating ideas and on occasion, my craftiness and DIY skillz.

And now, I loooove our new dining room.

Since I painted it myself (well, I did have A LOT of help from Brad painting the ceiling...), I decided to make a quick video for TiffanyDtv (my other, more random YouTube channel) and share some of my painting tips I've learned over the years that really make a difference.

Also, I give you guys a little peek at some of my Fall decor :)

...all of which is totally Waylon-approved.

Paint color: Behr paint and primer in one, Cinnabark (flat finish)
