I got a surge of comments regarding Barry M Royal Raspberry Lip Paint after posting the below haul picture on my Tumblr.

Barry M Lip Paints (from left): Royal Raspberry, Vintage Rose and Dolly Pink

It's not a surprise considering it's an absolutely gorgeous black-cherry metallic.

I'm happy to report that after giving it a couple of goes, I can safely say Royal Raspberry is undoubtedly

Black Comet: Smoky Eye with Candy-pink Lips (MAC Lustreleaf and Lime Crime Great Pink Planet)

Black smoky eye with Lime Crime Great Pink Planet on the lips and Barry M Baby Pink Lip Paint worn as blush.

I had to name this the "comet" eye, because I was inspired by how a comet starts at a hard intense point, and then trails out to a smoky soft finish. This look is the reverse of most shaded eye looks, in that the hardest and darkest point is the inner corner of the eye rather, and then

Fall 2011 Lipstick Recommendations and Swatches

L-to-R: NYX Iced Honey, Make Up Store Magic, and NYX Chic Red lipstick

Some of the shades that have been showing up for the Fall fashion season include a mixture of soft, dark, and strong shades. Here are some of my favorites.

SOFT:Gone are the concealer lips of last season. The new "nude" lipsticks are kittenish (they make your lips look much more pouty) with a warm peachy undertone so they

Beauty Experts: Daring Coral Video

I'm so excited! My next video in the Sigma Beauty "Beauty Experts" series is up! This is the other video I filmed while in Minneapolis a little while back. :)
I had SO much fun working with Sigma on these videos and I'm really happy with how they turned out.
This one is called "Daring Coral" and it features the Dare palette and my favorite Sigma brushes, which you can find here.
Hope you guys enjoy!

Drugstore Finds...

Ahhhhh... the Drugstore. Such a magical place.

Who else gets excited about being able to pick up false lashes, Coke Zero, liquid eyeliner, and toilet paper all under one roof?

...just me?

But seriously, I love drugstores. Most of my tried and true beauty staples can be found there.

So I figured I'd share some items I picked up during a recent trip to my local Walgreens. What began as a quick trip to pick up conditioner (major necessity), led to me walking out the door with some awesome beauty products I can't wait to try.

Fall Evening: Cherries and Violets (NYX Chic Red Round Lipstick)

Rich, crimson lips can brighten up your complexion, and you don't necessarily need to pair it with pale, neutral eye makeup or kitten liner. For nice Fall evenings (or just any night out on the town), you can pair colored eye makeup with strong lips if the application remains soft and smoky.

Step 1: To soften the overall look if you have dark hair, lighten your hair a tad  with either

I'm Back from Paris!!

Ohhh Paris was... Everything and nothing like I thought it would be! It's so hard to describe my experience there. In a word, it was amazing.
While I was there, we saw so many amazing things. The feeling I got seeing things I had heard about and seen on TV and in books my whole life was just unbelievable!
So I filmed this video the day after I returned from the trip to show you guys what all I bought! Because let's face it, a trip to Paris without some shopping here and there, is no trip at all. :)

Also, be sure to keep checking back because I will be posting some pictures from the trip here soon!

Fall Look: Pearls and Oysters (Greyscale makeup featuring MAC Vex Eye Shadow)

MAC Vex shadow with Coastal Scents Antique Silver mix* and Eylure Nicola lashes
I've always been fascinated by duochrome shadow shades, and it's no wonder that Vex is one of my all-time favorite shadows from MAC. It's a soft pale oyster grey with a pink shift, and has a texture very similar to my other favorite, Patina, in that the base is a satiny demi-matte, and the pearl sheen is very subtle

Fall Look: Gilded Antique Lids with Kitten Lips (Coastal Scents Antique Gold Mica with MAC Kinda Sexy Matte Lipstick)

Metallic textures can play up very muted or deep colors for Fall.

Fall doesn't need to be a time of monochromatic shades. As you start to deepen up the colors, look out for stronger textures like metallics, that can give a lush and gilded finish to very jewel-toned and neutral shades.

Step 1: Apply MAC Blooz pencil or any soft metallic navy pencil along the upper lash line and the outer half

Evening Rose: Featuring NYX Doll Pink Lip Gloss (Swatches and Mini-Review)

Evening look featuring NYX Doll Pink Gloss, softly-colored eyes, and cool pink cheeks.
Since rediscovering my love for the richness, opacity and longer wear of lipsticks, I've sort of left most of my glosses lying around for months.
NYX Doll Pink (below) Round Lip Gloss is one of those items that I dropped into my shopping cart while buying all those NYX Matte Lipsticks, and it's been left

Applying lip balm constantly retards your lips' ability to produce new cells?

We all know the skin on our lips is different from the skin on the rest of our body. However, according to thebeautybrains.com, applying too much lip balm on your lips retards new cell production as your body is not receiving enough signals to stimulate normal levels of turnover.

The main culprits cited are petrolatum (that's most lip balms out there) and beeswax (hello, lipsticks) because

One of the videos I filmed in Minneapolis a couple weeks back is up on the Sigma Beauty website! You may remember this post of all the fun behind-the-scenes photos from the video shoot that day. This look is a fun turquoise look using the Flare palette, which you can find here.

Lip Mix: Sunday Glow (Barry M Sunset Lip Paint + Barry M Peachy Pink Lip Paint)

Barry M Sunset Lip Paint + Barry M Peachy Pink Lip Paint, with matching nails
How's your weekend been? Mine has - like all weekends - been too short, and am not looking forward to Monday.
But to perk myself up for the next few days, I've painted my nails a bright peachy pink, and for dinner tonight, I've painted my lips to match.
Barry M 151 Sunset Lip Paint + Barry M 147 Peachy Pink = a bright

Tiffany Builds Cafe Shelves...

Yes, you read that right. A couple months back, I started feeling pretty handy and decided to tackle a small building project. So I figured I'd record my brave little feat for my vlog channel, TiffanyDtv.

It all began because I had been eyeing these cafe shelves from Ballard for quite some time. However, I wasn't mentally insane prepared enough to pay $99+ for each one. Lets be real, kids. Once I got three of those babies, plus shipping, my total would be at least $350. That is kind of terrifying.

Just for the sake of comparison...

My version (left)- less than $50 for all three vs. store bought (right)- $350+
I mean, the price says it all for me. Mine may not be perfect, but I get the extra bonus of getting the warm fuzzies when I look at them and know I made them.

So for less than $50 total (and with minimal handyman skillz), I built these
great looking shelves that, I have to say, look just like the Ballard version. I'm so proud of them.
Best part is they're totally customizable. You can make them as deep and long as you want and finish them with any color paint you like! I swear, it's super easy!

Check out my video tutorial below.

Barry M 52 Shocking Pink Lip Paint: Swatches and Review

Barry M Shocking Pink Lip Paint
This is the last of my Barry M Lip Paint features!
Shocking Pink is THE ultra-hot blue-pink in a matte, opaque texture. You've heard this is a dupe for Candy Yum Yum (which I did not purchase), but a little more pigmented and intense. Shocking Pink is also dryer in texture than Candy Yum Yum or NYX's matte lipsticks, so make sure you pat on some lip balm and then

"MAC Me Over" Collection Swatches & Review

I honestly had (still have) mixed feelings about this collection when I saw it for the first time. Lots of re-promoted and permanent colors, a three-part somewhat confusing concept, and a ton of items.

As I've had some time to play around with the items I have, I appreciate it more. While the colors at first glance seem pretty basic, there are some hidden gems. Seemingly "basic" shades that actually have a little something special or different about them. A quad that looks boring, but when applied, contains such a unique and wearable green and purple.

I admit, when I actually used the products, I was surprised.

Oh and I can't forget all the shades work especially well for Fall.

The concept of the collection... still a bit fuzzy to me. But we won't get into all that.

Here are the items I have from the collection. Keep in mind, this isn't the complete collection, just the items I have.

Also, be sure to check out my video review of these items at the bottom of the post.

Black Jade: Dramatic Cat Eye Makeup

Black and jade shadow dramatic eye using I Nuovi Fog and Wet n Wild Greed palette (matte black), with  Jordana Pink Passion Matte Lipstick
Smoky shadow can be sexy and strong, and a matte black smoky eye is often the most dramatic of all. For this look, I wanted to add a touch of pale surrealism to the dark drama and minimize the "grunginess" without diluting too much of the strength.

I Nuovi D27 Eyeshadow Collection Haul and Swatches

I Nuovi has long been one of my favorite brands for eye products. Their range of D27 eyeshadows are high-quality, pigmented, and come in a wide variety of textures and shades. Here in Singapore, they are also more affordable than MAC shadows but definitely on par (and even better sometimes) in terms of quality.
At a recent members' mega-sale, I couldn't resist stopping by for a fantastic deal; 12

NYX Purple Rain Slim Lip Pencil Swatch and Review!

Swatches for shade comparison (Top-down): NYX Purple Rain pencil, NYX Fuchsia pencil, Bourjois Bleu Chatoyant eyeliner
Purple Rain is a deep magenta with muted violet-blue sheen. It gives the most interesting effect on the lips as it looks so deep, but at the same time has a bit of a "glow" because of the reflective pigments, and will not look flat. For fall, this gives great matte magenta lips.

Glittery Fall Makeup Tutorial

Ahhh Fall...

Cooler weather, turning leaves, college football, pumpkin spice lattes, Fall makeup tutorials, glitter... Wait, what?

I'm really loving the Too Faced Glampire glitter. Paired with a smokey eye in Fall colors, it's surprisingly quite wearable (so you'll only get minimal strange looks at the grocery store), but is still glorified glitter nonetheless.

Products Used:

Too Faced Glitter Glue (primer)

Too Faced Glitter in Glampire

MAC Double Feature 5 eye shadow duo

*Other eye shadow ideas: Any frosted brown, bronze, MAC Club, or even a cranberry shade

MAC Fluidline in Dark Diversion (deep plum)

Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Exposed

Nars bronzer in Laguna

MAC lipglass in Social Light

Lancome Definicils Precious Cells mascara

MAC #36 false lashes
