Currently loving

This was actually supposed to be last months 'currently loving' post but there's been lots going on between studying, sitting my first exam and then being a little unwell and all of a sudden we're in June!

But there are some fantastic products in here so I'm sharing them with you now!  And then there are my actual May faves coming soon!

First up is this fab little cleanser from Pai.  This is the first Pai skincare product I have tried and am guessing now it won't be my last!  I can't actually remember where I bought this from or when but I took it out of my skincare stash after reading some good reviews on it and fell in love immediately.

This cream cleanser fits nicely into my evening skincare routine as my first 'make up removing' cleanse.  A couple of pumps massaged into dry skin (safe to use round the eyes too) and then removed with a moist flannel is super effective at removing all the crap off your face at the end of the day.  It has a mild rosy scent and feels really gentle-no tingling, irritation, dryness or breakouts.  I really wish I had gone for the larger size! It's not cheap at £25 for 100ml or £35 for 200ml but I think this is a definitely repurchase for me.  It just feels lovely on the skin and like you're really nourishing it.

I own 6 of the newly released Dior Fluid Sticks but Tiny Pink is the colour I keep reaching for and the one that has found a place in my handbag.  This is a hybrid between a gloss and a lipstick but the pros for me are that Tiny Pink is a really glossy, wearable pink that lasts a decent amount of time on the lips without drying or bleeding at all.  It can feel a little tacky initially but it does dry down.  Am loving a glossy lip at the moment and this one ticks all the boxes.  You can see it in action here

Smashbox Photofinish Primer is the primer of all primers in my book!  This is a constant repurchase that I always find myself going back to.   Yes it's heavily silicone based but it glides over the skin literally blurring pores as it goes.  It feels lightweight on the skin and gives any foundation extra lasting powder.  I love it.

The By Terry Baume De Rose was part of my birthday gift from my best friend Dani and I have been loving it, it's constantly within reach!  It's heavily rose scented (which I love) but thankfully doesn't taste of roses.  It's eye-wateringly expensive at £38 but I have been using it daily since April and barely made a dent in it.  It gives the slightest pinky sheen to the lips which looks gorgeously pretty and of course the packaging is divine.  It isn't sticky in the slightest and lips feel nourished and slightly plumped.  For those with severely chapped lips it probably won't be a miracle worker but it's certainly a luxe treat I am loving!

I've read so much about the Charles Worthington Salon at Home Volume and Bounce Texturising Spray but I can't get it in Dubai so imagine how chuffed I was that Vanessa from The Other VW bought me some in my birthday parcel!  And I am so pleased she did.   I love texturising sprays, I have long, fine, flat hair that gets greasy easily so a texturising spray or dry shampoo does help to give it a bit more ooomph!  I've used Batiste for years but the white powder residue is off putting.  I find this spray does a bit of everything for me-it has the hold of a hairspray but the oomph and grease absorbing powers of a dry shampoo-and it's clear.  And smells amazing.  When I go home at the end of the month I am definitely stocking up.  I much prefer this to the Oribe spray and it's a fraction of the price.

Last up is a perfume that has been seeing me all the way through Spring.  Launched at the end of last year the Chloe, See by Chloe is a light, floral, spring like scent with apple blossom, bergamot, jasmine and ylang ylang.  It's not headache inducing or sickly and a gorgeous every day fragrance.  I love the almost birdcage shaped bottle it comes in and I can still smell it on me by the time I arrive home.  A definite hit in my books!

Let me know what you've been loving this month.

My beauty product obsession that makes no sense!

I suppose we could also call this my perfume collection post!  Why pointless?  Well because I have no sense of smell!!

Seriously, I haven't been able to smell since May 2012 following a particularly nasty bout of the flu.  On a good day I can catch a top note-the first drop of coffee as it hits the cup or the top note of a perfume but 95% of the time you could put a tub of vicks under my nose and I wouldn't be able to detect even a whiff.

It can be quite depressing though-it's amazing how self conscious you become-in fact my perfume collection has grown massively since I haven't been able to smell because I am so obsessed with smelling good.

I'm actually seeing a new doctor at the moment and trying some new medication-there has been a little improvement in the past week but things either all smell the same or smell differently to how I remember them!  He did say I would need to wait 2 weeks to see if there was any real improvement though so fingers crossed!

So how do I pick perfumes?  Well I like floral, clean and fresh perfumes.  I don't like musky or powdery perfumes.  I basically buy off descriptions-the slightest mention of 'an orchard at sunset' or 'a barefoot walk along the beach' and I am sold!

So here is a photo heavy post of my current perfume collection.  Many lie unopened at the moment as, with everything, perfume has a shelf life once open of about 12-18 months and there is only so much perfume you can use at one time!

My perfumes are displayed in a beautiful leather tray from Lucrin.  Lucrin is a french company that produce gorgeous leather goods and ship worldwide.  My trays are monogrammed as well with my initials.  They're absolutely beautiful and very hard wearing.  Mine are made of granulated cow skin and are the 'large miscellaneous holder' in fuchsia.  I love the studded details in the corners as well.

I am obsessed with monogramming!  Love the details on these trays.

When Jo Malone released this collection in Spring this year I went absolutely crazy and bought 2 of everything!  They all work SO well together and layer up really nicely (I've been told lol!)  Ginger Biscuit is my absolute favourite and one I can actually smell!  I wish Jo Malone would release this in the permanent collection.  My best friend Danielle loves this scent too.

Issey Miyake has been a long long time favourite and so a safe bet!  There was a point last year that I could pick up one note in it but it was quite musky and it made me feel unwell.  This week I have been picking up the top note I love so much again!

The top note of Jo Malone red roses is so lovely I think.  But none of the boys in my office like it when I wear this perfume!

When Estee Lauder re-released Bronze Goddess this summer I had to have it given everyone was saying it was like holidays in a bottle!  I am so easily led!

And I don't just have one tray of perfume, there is a second!

I bought Stella Summer on description alone, I can't catch any of this perfume when I spray it!  I love the design of the bottle though.

I keep one of the trays on my dressing table right in the corner.  They're so easy to clean which is great with the amount of cat hair that collects!

The second tray sits on top of my ikea make up drawers on the other side of my dressing table.

Do you have any pointless make up obsessions?  Maybe like you can't stop buying lip glosses even though you hate the feel of it or a certain eye shadow colour you know you can't pull off?  Please tell me I am not the only one with a strange obsession!

Do you see any of your favourite perfumes in my collection?
