US Sephora wishlist

US Sephora wishlist

For some reason, Mike got upset when people asked us where we were going on holiday and I said Sephora!  Now I am in the States here are some of the products high up on my Sephora wishlist!

Hourglass Modernist Eye Palette in Obscura and Incandescent Light blush:

The reviews of the new Modernist palettes have been somewhat lukewarm but I just can't help wanting to try one!  Obscura is the one that is saying 'buy me'.  Incandescent Light is the newest Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blusher and the one I don't own.  It shall be mine.

Sunday Riley Luna:

My desire for this is sky high and it's been on my wishlist for months.  Not available in Dubai, I will pick this up the moment I see it.

Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion PM:

I had a sample of this night treatment from PTR and it was a game changer for my skin.  Definitely need a full size bottle.  This stuff is amazing on hormonal acne, especially around the jawline.

Kate Somerville RetAsphere Night Cream:

My retinol obsession continues and I want to pick this cream up in particular.  I also want to have a good look at the whole range-my wishlist for the US is quite skincare heavy.

Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo foundation:

Long lasting heavy duty foundations are right up my street.  I was recently reading all the comments on Lauras instagram post about Estee Lauder Double Wear and this foundation got a couple of mentions.  Obviously I have been out and bought Double Wear after Laura raved about it too!

Elizabeth and James Nirvana Rollerball:

Who doesn't love a good rollerball?  I feel like picking up a couple, this Elizabeth and James one and I am sure I'll be spoiled for choice for the second!

Marc Jacobs Mod Noir:

Marc Jacobs newest launch is touted as being gardenia heavy and as a gardenia lover I will be sniffing this one out.

Glamglow PowerCleanser

I am a big fan of GlamGlow masks and I am tempted by their new cleanser range.  Power Cleanse is the one I am most likely to splurge on but I'll be checking out the other two in the range.

Make Up For Ever Nude Palette

I haven't seen this at the Make Up For Ever here in Dubai but this nude palette is being raved about.  I really really like Make Up For Ever single eyeshadows so to have a compact palette would make me very happy!

**There may be other things on my Sephora wishlist but I don't want to look greedy

Sephora Haul

Sephora shipping to the UK is like the best thing ever.  Even though I don't actually live in the UK and I have to send it to my mums for her to send it to me.  And the fact that Sephora won't ship everything to the UK.  But apart from that, best thing ever!!

My Sephora 'loves' list is a constant work in progress and the trip we have just booked to Miami in October for 2 weeks should see me turning my 'loves' list into reality #Yey

So here are a few things I picked up recently from Sephora in the US.

First up is the Anastasia Clear Brow Gel (the pink tube that looks like sweeties) and the Tarte Fresh Eyes wipes.  I thought the Tarte wipes might be useful for flights and for clearing up smudges and the Anastasia Brow Gel is a repurchase.  It's so good and one of the only ones I have tried that doesn't go crusty.  Crusty is never a good look.

The main item I bought was the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette.  I have ummed and ahhed over this for months.  Mainly because I own about 178,932 eyeshadow palettes already.  But after reading rave reviews from Jen at Vibrant Vivacious Veracious Beauty Blog and Tiffany from Make Up By Tiffany D I felt my resolve weakening by the day.

The first thing that hit me about the palette was the smell-wowzers it is like chocolate on steroids.  I am not sure if I love it or hate it at the moment but it's sickly sweet.  The palette is packaged in a tin so is great for travelling.  There's a good mixture of shimmery and matte shades and looks pretty damn good to me.  I'll try and review asap.

I bought yet another Bite lipstick.  I love this brand so much and I am gutted that I have just found out they have a lab in Soho, NYC where you can go and make your own lipstick.  I wish I had known that when I was in NYC last year.  Definitely one for the 'to do list'.  My latest pick is from the Deconstructed Rose collection which comes in really pretty outer packaging covered in roses but the lipstick itself is in the standard grey rubberised Bite packaging.  This is the shade Grandifolia, a fiery coral red.  I am kicking myself for not picking up the Deconstructed Rose gloss library and now it's out of stock.

Finally I picked up two new releases and a highly rated mascara.

The Josie Maran Lip and Cheek creamy oil is a tinted argon oil treatment for lips and cheeks.  I absolutely adore the Josie Maran Coconut Watercolour Cheek Gelee so I have high hopes for this.  I chose Limitless Pink.

The Too Faced Melted Liquified lipstick has been getting rave reviews in the States.  Am not sure what to expect in terms of formula-am kind of expecting something like the OCC lip tars so again I will review asap.

Finally I picked up the Kat Von D Immortal Lash.  I struggle to resist a mascara, especially one that is described as blacker than black and intensely volumising.  SOLD.

What have you been splurging on recently?

PS-my last blogpost was a review of 2 of Sephora own in house brand lipstick glosses-you can read it here

Holiday Look #2: Neo-Pinup Tutorial (purple-taupe eyes and metallic red lips)!

The 50s look features full and arched brows. Here I emphasized the arched shape but kept the color quite soft instead of using a typical black-brown.

Polished skin was a big thing for pinups and it’s no different here. I used a dewy finish foundation and a radiant setting powder so there would be a soft-focus glow.

The pinup eye features a very clean eye lid and some matte shading along
