Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette-The Sophisticate review

So I worked out today that the only Charlotte Tilbury eyeshadow palette I haven't bought is The Rebel, which means I now own 7/9 currently as The Uptown Girl went to a loving home in a blogsale.

I have reviewed 4 so far-Fallen Angel, The Uptown Girl, Dolce Vita, and Golden Goddess and today I am talking about the only all matte palette in the range-The Sophisticate.

I am so on the fence about this palette!  If you're a regular reader you probably know by now that matte eyeshadows are really not my thing.   I actually find them just a little boring.

But this palette is chocolate box perfect visually.  It just screams use me.  I really like the way Charlotte has designed her eyeshadow compacts-no pointless eyeshadow brushes, nice flat rectangular pans and the shadows themselves have little fallout.  In this palette there is no 'pop' shimmer shade and really is a matte lovers dream.

I found the pigmentation to be good for each of the four shadows although I found the two darker bottom row shades a little bit stiff to work with.  I thought the look I did was pretty boring/standard but I got compliments on it at work.  And whenever I caught sight of it I thought my eye looked quite contoured/classic/sophisticated.

But I am really on the fence-how much will I reach for this in reality?  Would someone else give it a much more loving home if I blog sale it?  I am leaning towards the latter right now to be honest but as I only do blog sales when I am travelling home to the UK I have a little time to really decide!

Have you tried any of the Charlotte Tilbury compacts?  How are you finding them?

PS-this palette is very very similar in tone to the eyeshadow palette review I have coming up on Sunday from Gucci-if mattes aren't your thing either but you like the tones of this palette, check back in on Sunday
