Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in The Dolce Vita

If I am completely honest I haven't been bowled over by the Charlotte Tilbury range yet.  Until now.

I like the lipsticks but I don't utterly love them.  Well actually, I have to say Bitch Perfect and Velvet Underground are really nice.  I hated the eyeshadow pencil in Champagne Diamonds as it put random glitter that was impossible to remove all over my lids.  And although I liked the Uptown Girl eyeshadow palette it's very frosty and had a LOT of fallout.

The Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in 'The Dolce Vita' is finally the quality I was expecting from Charlotte Tilbury.  This palette is by far the best item I have tried so far from Charlotte Tilbury-smooth, even application, very little fallout, great pigmentation and superb lasting power.  I have been using it all week and loving the versatility it offers.  In fact I am a little bit addicted to it!

There are 4 warm shades in the quad including one glitter 'pop' shade.  The other 3 are definitely not frosty, not shimmery per se but do have a satin finish.  I don't normally wear warm toned eyeshadow and on first sight (I bought this from Selfridges online so didn't see it in person) I didn't think it would work on me but actually I do like all of these colours a lot.

The base 'prime' champagne colour is smooth, pigmented and velvety.  Very similar to my all time favourite colour Stila 'Kitten' but with less fallout.  Brilliant all over the lid or as an inner corner highlight.

The top right 'enhance' shade is a very warm red toned copper in the pan but actually pulls very golden on me.  Much more wearable than I expected it to be.  I have been using it in the crease or the outer third of my eye but in the 'evening look' picture below I used it all over the lid with the 'pop' shade over.

The bottom right 'smoke' shade is a deep chocolate brown with highlights of gold.  It's ridiculously easy to blend and for a daytime look looks brilliant paired with the prime shade.

The bottom left 'pop' shade is so much better than it's 'Uptown Girl' equivalent.  It does not have the gritty, chalky texture of the pop shade in the Uptown Girl palette and it doesn't feel like it's falling apart when you put your finger in it.  It is ridiculously pigmented, a gorgeous glittery bronze gold than presses onto the lid easily to 'disco' up your lids with an almost foil finish.

Amelia Liana who always has the most flawless eye make up has a lovely look with this palette here.

The palette itself is somewhat flimsy although I do like the 'Gatsby-esque' outer casing.  It is good for travelling due to it's sleek design and is well laid out.  I like the 'Charlotte Tilbury' embossed on the palette casing inside and the large mirror in the compact is useful.

Despite my initial concern the palette would be too warm for my skintone I do love this palette so much.  It's been a permanent fixture on my dressing table for almost 2 weeks which is unheard of for me.

Have you picked up anything from the Charlotte Tilbury line?  What are your thoughts?
