Mac Tropical Taboo collection-my picks!

When I saw this collection first appear online I was smitten.  I have missed out on some many limited edition MSF's that I was determined to get my hands on these!

What Mac says....

M∙A∙C captures the passion of samba in a shimmering colour collection pulsating with sensuality. Give in to the heat, beat and exotic glamour of shades that define desire. Be seduced by the lure of the Latin beat.

Here's what I picked from the collection.

Mineralize Skinfinishes are finely milled powders with a frost/metallic finish.  They can be used as highlighters or as blushers/ bronzers (providing I find, you use a light hand due to the frost finish).  I like to put a tiny bit on top of my normal matte blusher for extra depth.   No special packaging for this collection but these 3 are all limited edition.  I was chatting to Adrienne from The Sunday Girl on facebook and she bought all three as well and has great swatches on her post here.  Personally when I swatched Lust it reminded me of Stereo Rose and when I just went back to read Adrienne's post she has said the same!  So if you missed out on Stereo Rose this might be a good alternative-but it is limited edition so don't hang about.  Personally I think you get a lot of product for your money with these-I couldn't ever see me hitting pan!

The Mineralize blushes again have a frost finish to them and are the same size as a standard Mac blusher BUT they are not in the metal casing so can't be depotted if you have a Mac palette.  It's worthy to note that with the baking process no two mineralize products are exactly the same.  I remember when Stereo Rose came out seeing people at the Mac counter going through the stock looking for the perceived 'perfect' coral veining in the pan!

These are intensely pigmented and a little goes a long way.  The ever amazing Christine from Temptalia has reviewed these blushers here with swatches.

Finally I picked up 3 of the 6 Mineralize Eye Shadows in this range.   These shadows can be used wet or dry and you can sweep your brush across the pan to get a mixed colour or pick out individual colours in the pan.

Bossa blue is almost cobalt with bronze veining.  Tropica is silver with lilac veining and Time To Tango (a surprise favourite for me considering it was a last minute, spur of the moment addition to my shopping cart) is lavender with pale gold veining.  Of all the mineralize products I find these are the ones with the least colour payoff and that you really need a good eye primer to intensify the colour.

I love love love the eye make-up Karen from Make Up and Beauty Blog has done here with these shadows.  I love Karen's blog-she has such personality she is just a person I would love to meet in real life.  Her swatches of the entire range here are also amazing and what convinced me to buy Bossa Blue!

My one 'damn I wish I had picked that up' thought from the collection?  Fever Isle cremesheen glass lipgloss-a beautiful coral.  I suppose there is time yet!

I picked mine up from Selfridges in the UK but I believe the collection has launched in store in the US and UK now.

Have you bought anything from this collection?
