Drugstore Finds...

Ahhhhh... the Drugstore. Such a magical place.

Who else gets excited about being able to pick up false lashes, Coke Zero, liquid eyeliner, and toilet paper all under one roof?

...just me?

But seriously, I love drugstores. Most of my tried and true beauty staples can be found there.

So I figured I'd share some items I picked up during a recent trip to my local Walgreens. What began as a quick trip to pick up conditioner (major necessity), led to me walking out the door with some awesome beauty products I can't wait to try.

Fall Evening: Cherries and Violets (NYX Chic Red Round Lipstick)

Rich, crimson lips can brighten up your complexion, and you don't necessarily need to pair it with pale, neutral eye makeup or kitten liner. For nice Fall evenings (or just any night out on the town), you can pair colored eye makeup with strong lips if the application remains soft and smoky.


Step 1: To soften the overall look if you have dark hair, lighten your hair a tad  with either

I'm Back from Paris!!

Ohhh Paris was... Everything and nothing like I thought it would be! It's so hard to describe my experience there. In a word, it was amazing.
While I was there, we saw so many amazing things. The feeling I got seeing things I had heard about and seen on TV and in books my whole life was just unbelievable!
So I filmed this video the day after I returned from the trip to show you guys what all I bought! Because let's face it, a trip to Paris without some shopping here and there, is no trip at all. :)

Fall Look: Pearls and Oysters (Greyscale makeup featuring MAC Vex Eye Shadow)

I've always been fascinated by duochrome shadow shades, and it's no wonder that Vex is one of my all-time favorite shadows from MAC. It's a soft pale oyster grey with a pink shift, and has a texture very similar to my other favorite, Patina, in that the base is a satiny demi-matte, and the pearl sheen is very subtle

Metallic textures can play up very muted or deep colors for Fall.

Fall doesn't need to be a time of monochromatic shades. As you start to deepen up the colors, look out for stronger textures like metallics, that can give a lush and gilded finish to very jewel-toned and neutral shades.

You'll be happy to know these two collections are now part of the permanent line, although for me, these were the two standouts.

Tiffany Builds Cafe Shelves...

Yes, you read that right. A couple months back, I started feeling pretty handy and decided to tackle a small building project. So I figured I'd record my brave little feat for my vlog channel, TiffanyDtv.

It all began because I had been eyeing these cafe shelves from Ballard for quite some time. However, I wasn't mentally insane prepared enough to pay $99+ for each one. Lets be real, kids. Once I got three of those babies, plus shipping, my total would be at least $350. That is kind of terrifying.

Just for the sake of comparison...

My version (left)- less than $50 for all three vs. store bought (right)- $350+
I mean, the price says it all for me. Mine may not be perfect, but I get the extra bonus of getting the warm fuzzies when I look at them and know I made them.

So for less than $50 total (and with minimal handyman skillz), I built these
great looking shelves that, I have to say, look just like the Ballard version. I'm so proud of them.
Best part is they're totally customizable. You can make them as deep and long as you want and finish them with any color paint you like! I swear, it's super easy!

Shocking Pink is THE ultra-hot blue-pink in a matte, opaque texture. You've heard this is a dupe for Candy Yum Yum (which I did not purchase), but a little more pigmented and intense. Shocking Pink is also dryer in texture than Candy Yum Yum or NYX's matte lipsticks, so make sure you pat on some lip balm and then

"MAC Me Over" Collection Swatches & Review

I honestly had (still have) mixed feelings about this collection when I saw it for the first time. Lots of re-promoted and permanent colors, a three-part somewhat confusing concept, and a ton of items.

As I've had some time to play around with the items I have, I appreciate it more. While the colors at first glance seem pretty basic, there are some hidden gems. Seemingly "basic" shades that actually have a little something special or different about them. A quad that looks boring, but when applied, contains such a unique and wearable green and purple.

I admit, when I actually used the products, I was surprised.

Oh and I can't forget all the shades work especially well for Fall.



The concept of the collection... still a bit fuzzy to me. But we won't get into all that.

NYX Purple Rain Slim Lip Pencil Swatch and Review!

Purple Rain is a deep magenta with muted violet-blue sheen. It gives the most interesting effect on the lips as it looks so deep, but at the same time has a bit of a "glow" because of the reflective pigments, and will not look flat. For fall, this gives great matte magenta lips.

I'm really loving the Too Faced Glampire glitter. Paired with a smokey eye in Fall colors, it's surprisingly quite wearable (so you'll only get minimal strange looks at the grocery store), but is still glorified glitter nonetheless.
